Lived Experience Advisory Board

Description

A Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB) brings together people with lived experience of homelessness to guide how programs, policies, and services are shaped. They offer insight into what truly works, where people encounter barriers, and how programs can be more accessible, effective, and trauma-informed. LEAB members review proposed policies, identify barriers in the homeless response system, and highlight gaps or unintended harms that service providers may not see. By elevating the voices of those most affected, the LEAB promotes accountability, equity, and continuous improvement across the homeless response system. Their guidance ensures that solutions are shaped by not only data and policy, but by the lived realities of the people these systems are meant to serve.
